While starting IIS 6.0, we embrace a blunder as good as IIS will not start.
When IIS 6.0 starts, it attempts to connect to pier 80 upon all a IP addresses upon a machine, not only a IP addresses firm to IIS. (See FAQ upon Socket Pooling).
So, if we have an additional focus firm to an IP upon pier 80, even if we haven’t firm which IP to IIS, IIS will destroy to begin with this error.
Note – this complaint can begin with IIS 5.0 as well.
MS has posted a technical essay upon this emanate during a following link:
Basically, instead of HTTP.SYS listening (or attempting) to attend to pier 80 upon all IP addresses, we discuss it HTTP.SYS what specific IP addresses to attend on.
Note a following caveats from a article:
The IP inclusion list is review during startup of a HTTP service. If we shift a list, we contingency restart a service.
After we supplement IP addresses to a IP inclusion list, we contingency supplement any IP residence which is used by a Web site. If we connect a Web site to an IP residence which is not upon a list, a Web site does not start.
